When We Are Closed
If a problem arises while the surgery is closed and you feel in need of medical advice or urgent treatment, ring NHS 111. A trained advisor will take your details and information about the medical problem and a doctor or nurse will telephone you back.
Urgent Care/Walk-in Centres
The NHS Urgent Care Centre is based at Loughborough Hospital, Epinal Way, Loughborough.
Walk-in centres, urgent care centres and minor injuries units offer access to a range of treatment for minor illnesses and injuries including, lacerations, stomach upsets, burns and strains. You will be seen by an experienced nurse, without an appointment. X-ray is available at some locations.
They will not treat old injuries, i.e. an injury which occurred more than 48 hours previously. In these cases you will be referred back to the surgery.
The nurse practitioners are authorised to request X-rays. The X-ray facilities at the Walk In Centre are open from 10:00 until 16:30, Monday to Fridays. If you require an X-ray outside of these hours you will be referred to the Accident and Emergency department at Leicester Royal Infirmary.
More serious injuries such as deep cuts, severe burns and facial injuries may also need to be referred to Leicester Royal Infirmary.
