RCGP - eGPlearning

General Practitioner (GP) is a doctor who, as a consultant in general practice and having obtained GP status on the specialist register, uniquely specialises in providing whole-person medical care. Their distinct expertise and experience enable them to manage the complexity, uncertainty, and risk associated with the continuous care they provide.
Working with their communities, GPs strive to provide comprehensive and equitable care for everyone, considering health care needs, stage of life and background. Through confidential, trusted partnerships with their patients, GPs provide evidence-informed personalised care, ensuring the well-being of their patients in the community in an accessible way, whether remotely or in person.
As consultants in general practice, GPs bring their expertise to various aspects of healthcare, extending beyond their GP surgery. They contribute to leadership, research, and education, leveraging their specialist training and experience. During this training, the doctors are referred to as residents.
