Who do I see?
Routine appointments
You can call our surgery on 01509 261843 Monday to Friday at 08.00am to request routine appointments with our clinical team.
We open our appointment ledger daily for allocated routine appointments.
You can request routine care using our online services request box.
Urgent Appointments
On the day appointments are available daily, you can access these by calling the surgery on 01509 261843 at 08.00am. Our reception team will ask you for a brief description of your presenting complaint to make sure you are booked with the correct clinician. The number of available appointments varies depending on the number of clinicians we have available.
If it’s a telephone call we do not not give a time for when the clinician will call you.
Same day appointments consist of GP, Trainee Doctors, Physicians Associate, Advanced Clinical Practitioner, Muscular Skeletal (MSK) Specialist, Mental Health Practitioner, Mental Health Facilitator.
Cancelling your appointment
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
Extended Access
We are increasing the number of appointments available for you to see a GP, our extended access clinic runs from Monday – Friday in the evening from 18.30pm and on a Saturday all day. This clinic is based at Rosebery Medical Centre.
Depending on your individual circumstances and symptoms, we may offer you an ‘extended access’ appointment. Please note however, that these appointments will not be in your usual GP practice and may not be with one of your usual GPs or nurses.
Depending on the reason for your appointment, and if you are in agreement, it may be suitable for you to see an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, instead of a GP.
The clinician you see will be able to access relevant sections of your medical notes and will communicate what has happened during your appointment back to your usual GP practice.
Surgeries and clinics normally commence on time. While the doctors and nurses make every effort to keep to the booked appointment times, surgeries may run late depending on individual patients’ needs. We will endeavour to inform you if, for any reason, your appointment is delayed.
Home Visits
Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible. In this respect, if you are housebound and you do require a home visit, you can enquire and discuss with our Reception Team by calling 01509 261843 at 08.00am
You may only request a home visit if you are housebound. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it, and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed. Please bear this in mind and be prepared to provide suitable details to enable the doctor to schedule house calls.
You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
