Types of Walks and How Fast Should You Walk | Fitpage

Join Dr Borrill/ Durant for a free walk open for patient who are living with diabetes or recently been diagnosed with the condition.

Inclusive, free, beginner wellbeing walk. Come as you are and enjoy the physical and mental wellbeing benefits of moving more in ways right for you.

Meet at Bridge street Medical Practice for a 1pm- 1:30pm walk, no booking required.

This walk will be a very steady and gentle peace with lots of breaks. We will cater for your own peace, there is no pressure on this walk.  When you have diabetes, moving more can make a huge difference to how you feel and how you manage your condition. Walking is a good way to get physically active and build movement into your daily routine. This is because walking:

  • helps the body use insulin better.
  • helps relieve stress which can affect your blood sugar levels, and reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety.
  • helps you build stamina, burn excess calories and make your heart healthier – increasing the speed at which you walk increases the benefits.
  • is a low-risk activity because it’s easy on your joints.
  • it can help improve your sleep.

Dr Borrill/ Durant look forward to seeing you there.
