On the day appointments are available daily, you can access these by calling the surgery on 01509 261843 at 08.00am daily, our reception team will ask you for a brief description of your presenting complaint to make sure you are booked with the correct clinician. The number of available appointments varies depending on the number of clinicians we have available.
If it’s a telephone call we do not not give a time for when the clinician will call you.
Same day appointments consist of GP, Physicians Associate, Advanced Clinical Practitioner Muscular Skeletal (MSK) Specialist.
Pre-bookable appointments
We offer a limited amount or pre-bookable appointments with our Partner GPs, these appointments become available every Friday, 4 weekly in advance
Extended Access Appointments
We are increasing the number of appointments available for you to see a GP in the early mornings, evenings or at weekends across West Leicestershire.
Depending on your individual circumstances and symptoms, we may offer you an ‘extended access’ appointment. Please note however, that these appointments will not be in your usual GP practice and may not be with one of your usual GPs or nurses.
Depending on the reason for your appointment, and if you are in agreement, it may be suitable for you to see an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, instead of a GP.
The clinician you see will be able to access relevant sections of your medical notes and will communicate what has happened during your appointment back to your usual GP practice.
.
Surgeries and clinics normally commence on time. While the doctors and nurses make every effort to keep to the booked appointment times, surgeries may run late depending on individual patients’ needs. We will endeavour to inform you if, for any reason, your appointment is delayed.
Home Visits
Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible. In this respect, if you do need a home visit, you can help us by calling reception between 08:00 – 10:30am.
You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed. Please bear this in mind and be prepared to provide suitable details to enable the doctor to schedule house calls
You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
To book an appointment with one of our Phlebotomists, you need to have a request made from a clinician or hospital blood forms, blood tests cannot be patient initiated. Please call 01509 261843 after 11:00 to book a Pre Bookable Blood Test.
